Pros

You'll put some money in your pocket. You'll like many of your coworkers (although few of them are happy). You'll like some of the customers (not many of them are happy either).

Cons

BMC will negatively impact your life. The workload will steadily increase with no end in sight. You will be pressured to work late nights and weekends. You will be asked to cover for people who quit. (A LOT of people quit. My group has turned-over 70% in the few years it's existed.) The constant administration and reporting to management is an unending nightmare. You will record every hour you work, every piece of electronic paper you produce, and every idea you have (in spite of the fact that your hours aren't billable). You are berated in front of your peers and your pay is docked if you fail to do so. Your peers will often take public credit for your work. (Two coworkers left me out of an engagement report on which I was the lead - publishing the work as solely their own - and then they begged for my help to present it when they got caught). Raises are a taboo subject. They aren't planned, they aren't discussed, and you won't get one. You may be singled-out and forced to relocate to an expensive city without assistance (HR is willfully ignorant of this practice). Bringing your dissatisfaction to management's attention is discouraged and falls of deaf ears (but your dissension will be noted and recorded). Your family will suffer. You will lose sleep, gain weight, and drink more alcohol than is healthy. That is the BMC way, as evidenced by every employee I've met. There is not one person in Sales who has a life that I envy.

Pros

Nice building in San Jose, close to train station, great kitchen area, fresh fruits provided every Monday.

Cons

Too high vertical hierarchy, bureaucratic procedures, unclear goals, massive regular layoffs, old product, annoying periodical "Ethic training" with quizzes, formal and meaningless performance reviews, incompetent management, no room to grow, frequent early morning and late night meetings due to very distributed teams in all time zones of USA, as well as Israel and India.

Pros

Former shell of the great company that it once was.

Cons

Bloated Management - Ever growing and revolving door of high priced management. Poor Communication - Lots of spin doctoring at each layer of management Lack of Innovation - No real investment in product or people Lack of Teamwork - Direct result of lack of leadership, coupled with attrition of top tier talent; cancerous subpar retreads are running amok driving their own agenda
