      freedom of expression related to getting it done, freedom related to work hours and telecomuting, great people to work with, plenty of educational opportunities, diverse array of responsibilities and product sets, decent pay, decent benefits, decent bonus potential,

      Cons

      good ol boy network is how you get promoted (or not). high quotas that increase every year, constant reogainzations even when things are working well, constant shifting of strategies, account assignment rotations, no accelorators in bonus plan, cap on bonus plan, sakes reps are run ragged and strssed out due to the fear factor of loosing their jobs, some managers have very poor people skills,

      Pros

      Incredible respect for employees, great working environment, challenging business and technical opportunities, good people. I've worked for a number of companies as both an employee and as a consultant, hands down and without any hesitation BMC Software is the best place I've ever worked. It's a large company so you get the benefits and infrastructure of such but it also has a highly focused product set and feels like a much smaller company with easy access to executive leadership.

      Cons

      It's a large organization so it can be difficult at times to see how your contributions are affecting the bottom line or increasing marketshare.

      Pros

      The overall benefits package is great, possiblly one of the best in the industry. The bebefits package covered everything from healthcare, to dental, and free Gym membership. The Pension scheme at the time was non-contribution at a level of 10% which was outstanding and unheard of these days. BMC has a strong portfolio of products (100+) which means there is plenty of opportunity to move within the orgainisation.

      Cons

      When the company I worked for was aquired by BMC and then intergrated into the Remedy business Unit I was more than a little nervious on how things would pan out. Hand on heart I could not fault the company or their overall strategy.
