      Pros

      Benefits are good, 401k match good, don't have to pay any fees on your investments. They try to accomodate to your personal needs or schedule family life.

      Cons

      Disconnect between management and employees. Us against them mentality. Low raises 1-2% a year, low salaries. Negative low morale atmosphere.

      Cons

      Terrible communication of direction and strategy from management. Very little transparency around core initiatives has the effect of polarizing teams.

      Trying to modernize, but progress is slow

      Pros

      - Deep subject matter expertise in many divisions because of long-tenured employees - Actually less political than other large firms where I've worked - of course there's still factions and alliances, but most people want to do what is best for the firm - Long-term employees demonstrate extreme loyalty, passion, and enthusiasm for the firm

      Cons

      - Vertical, silo'ed org structures lead to duplication of effort, reluctance to share information, lots of talented & expensive people stuck in dead-end roles, and lack of incentives for people to act as 'one firm' - The company wants to present itself as a diverse employer of choice, but there are almost no openly LGBT, non-white, or women employees in senior management. - Technology division has been run into the ground over last few years - morale is abysmal, strategy is unclear, women technologists are fleeing in droves.
