I feel like growth opportunities here may be a little bit limited, though that hasn’t been as big a focus for me here as it has been in other positions because I’m fairly compensated in my current role and feel like I’m making strong contributions to the organization. At some point, though, I will want to advance my career and don’t see a defined path to make that happen.
That’s really the only thing I can think of but it’s really pretty minor right now. It could eventually lead to me looking outside the Bank for growth opportunities, but not any time soon.
The only other potential con would be the Bank, as is the nature of the organization and banking industry, is relatively risk averse. This leads to a lack of innovation in some areas and some archaic IT processes. The Bank seems content to follow rather than lead, at least in technology.
