Pros

Some departments are good to work with.

Cons

Management tolerates an unfair and hostile work environment. Senior management is not pro-remote for all. However, certain individuals are given special treatment. Reports of hostile work environment are not addressed. For example one person in the vendor management group is extremely demeaning and hostile to their co-workers. Several people have left the team as a result of her treatment. However she was promoted and allowed to work remotely, traveling around the country in an RV, while the rest of the team is expected to work in the office, regardless of their remote preferences. The greater team is not considered and continues to be bullied by this individual. The bank is not keeping up with other companies and is continuing to lose employees to employers with better opportunities, better environments, and more flexibility. The future is not in cubicles with old school management styles.

Pros

Extremely creative HR Department leading "culture change" and posting fake Glassdoor reviews in September of last year. BOK attracts, promotes and celebrates the highest caliber of narcissists in the industry. An exciting environment of promotion and demotion roulette - you never know where your review will take you!

Cons

Working at BOK was one of the most disheartening experiences I have had in my career. BOK might be Dr. Laurence Peter's most perfect example of of the Peter Principle - each inept manager in Wealth has been promoted to the level of utter incompetence and in this role they thrive. Incompetence is allowed to thrive without check (unless a regulator catches it) and ends up creating headache and clean up for mid-level employees after the fact. Frat bro managers must have been too hungover to attend basic business classes theorizing on the concept of hard vs. soft dollar. Management in wealth removed resources, constantly rolled out incomplete projects (Black Diamond) and then bestowed time-intensive clean ups to those responsible for handling the day-to-day client facing roles. Decisions made disregard the input of the employees doing the work and it comes at a cost: that of the client. The costs are then coupled with pour service. I believe the "Private" Wealth recipe for success coming from Tulsa is 'Increased Cost + Decrease in Service = Satisfied Wealth Relationship'. As the largest shareholder continues to exit, the only way to keep the stock price up will be to continue to cut cost. However, without organic growth (and the talent to insight said growth) the company will remain as it always has - a mildly profitable, lower tier bank that will never truly "compete with Goldman" (a capability touted by the Chief Investment Strategist) but only other regional banks.

Pros

Work life balance is great. You get a laptop and have ability to work from home some.

Cons

There’s a lot of talk and no action. This is a veryyyy cheap company so be warned. When leadership was asked in an employee town hall about salary adjustments for this crazy inflation we are dealing with, HR responded that they don’t reduce salaries for deflation so they won’t increase for inflation….. Employees are vastly underpaid now even more so in this market, and you won’t actually get the full 6% employer match on your 401k if they match at all. Keep documentation for everything yourself, do not rely on HR as they are part of the political problem and not truly there to take care of employees. They care more about the bottom line as does leadership. You can get a great title here without the pay, just know if you are younger than 40 you will be talked down to especially if you’re a minority or female. Everything I was told I would benefit from or was promised before I started here did not match up to what was actually took place. Very disappointing and shocked with the dishonesty and lack of effort to take care of employees, they couldn’t care less about the employees wellbeing, it’s all about the bottom line/making more money

We’re truly sorry that you had a negative experience, and we would like to offer our support. Our Employee Resource Center would be happy to talk through any issues with you – we want to make sure that all of our employees feel appreciated and connected to our mission and purpose. If you’d like to reach out to us at employeeresourcecenter@bokf.com and offer any information to connect – we will be happy to discuss immediately. I would like to offer information about the 401(k), since there was inaccuracy in the comments. Not only are we matching the 401(k) at the close of the year, but we are also adding a 5% premium on to that amount this year, which is a great benefit given current market dynamics. I hope this information is helpful.
