Pros

BSI somehow manages to recruit some talented individuals in their consulting team.

Cons

All the support services are awful in the US. All management in Finance, IT, Marketing, and HR should be fired ASAP. They have zero understanding of their role to support and enable the business operations, and are instead bogged down by archaic procedure which just makes the business worse.

Pros

BSI has been going downhill rapidly and seems to revel in this knowledge. Horrible line management and worse middle management.

Cons

1. Managers are not consistent across the board. Managers such as JT are running off great people at a whim. 2. BSI no longer cares about the safety of their employees. For example, they want employees to stay in cheap, unsafe hotels in dangerous areas. They expect employees to eat fast food. They do not let employees rent cars except in rare circumstances. The health, safety and welfare of employees is not even a factor that they consider. 3. The pay is abmisal and some people make 10’s of thousands more than others…even those who are equally or more qualified than them. It is generally men that are paid significantly more.

Pros

Ability to say you "worked" for big name companies

Cons

Everything is a con working for BSI. The lack of professionalism, mismanagement, miscommunication, nepotism, and favoritism is what drove me away from this company. There is no career growth in the field of EHS at BSI. You're either a glorified assistant or a seller and neither of those choices helps with developing a strong EHS background. I get that you need to make money and need to sell services to clients, but don't force people to sell. There is no work-life balance at BSI, don't let management tell you otherwise. They make a big deal of consultants going "above and beyond" for clients. I've heard stories where consultants share they "woke up at 2 in the morning to drive an hour to a client site." Lastly, there is a high turnover rate at BSI. My former colleagues and I left BSI within months of each other.
