Pros
Allowed to wear head phones , nothing else. You will hate tomatoes if you don't already. There aren't any positives. The people were jerks.
Cons
I walked over 14 miles a day, was hired to be a crop care specialist, they never allowed me to use a lift, I had to walk up & down miles & miles of rows trimming the bottom 4 leaves off dinosaur plants I couldn't reach while others effortlessly glided around on trollies. My second day of training after trimming 10 rows my trainer told me There were older people there that could move faster than me. I started mid summer & got heat stroke my first day. They don't let you take breaks unless you are about to die. It was a hostile work environment where management was rude to the refugees who barely speak English, communications issues & with technology & language translators on your phones shouldn't be any communication issues. I was fired because I was age discriminated against & I told HR of my struggles. The pay is low for the hard labor & miles of walking. They used me for a good two weeks before firing me & making a big scene, they really love the drama. It's like going to high school. You got some macho women who think their poop don't stink. There are big buckets of open unlabeled hydrochloric acid all through the green houses & I worked in both while I was there. You wear a bucket on your belt & it splashes all over your clothes face & soaks through the many layers of gloves. My hands were stained from the acid for many weeks after my experience. They didn't tell me about hydrochloric acid, I had no idea what I was using. It doesn't have any fumes so I thought it was harmless. I wore double layers of gloves & it still soaked through, you have to dip your trimming knife every plant & it splashes because you are trying to move fast or they will whip you. The trimming tools are dull, it's like a communist world in the green house, people rushing to get the sharpest tool. The tomatoes are watery & not as tasty as everyone seems to think, they turn into a puddle when I cut them. It's all that's available on the grocery shelves.
