      Baker's been good to me

      Pros

      Great insurance benefits, excellent time off package, great people to work with, employee scholarship. Baker genuinely cares about students and student success.

      Cons

      Pay is arbitrary (at least when I started). For example, when I started (14 years ago), there was no set amount of pay for a particular position/experience/education level. A few years ago, I discovered that another person who has the same job title is paid $10,000 more than I am and s/he has 5 fewer years of service and a lower degree level. With the restructuring, they may have fixed the wage disparities for new hires, however no two existing employees make a standard amount.

We also strive to offer a very competitive salary to our employees based on job title, education and years of experience.

      Pros

      Baker College is comprised of employees that are committed, passionate and truly care about our students. Quality, innovation and a strong work ethic is valued. The benefits offered are amazing. Work life balance is encouraged.

      Cons

      Communication could be more consistent, but there are several ways to keep up to date on what is happening at the college.

      Really a Great Place to Work

      Pros

      I love the opportunities, the hardworking people, the Mission of BC, and the great work that is being done throughout the College. We have had to downsize for several years due to the higher education landscape, but we have been able to keep some very passionate, smart people at BC. We seem to have longevity with employees at Baker and I believe that it is because of the people and the students we service.

      Cons

      Can be overloaded at times due the downsizing. Salaries may not be competitive to other higher education institutions, but I do realize our benefits are very competitive.
