Pros
There are endless opportunities to cross train in every department in the lab. Gives an opportunity to see what you enjoy and what you don't. Great for people looking to explore career opportunities and learn as much as possible in a lab setting. Also, your coworkers and people around you feel like a family.
Cons
Upper management is a mess. I have worked here for many years and I always see/hear the same complaints about upper management not being in touch with what happens in the lab. Working with management teams feels like playing the blame game, where no one takes responsibility for issues that arise.
