      The opportunity for promotion is very difficult even for those who are well qualified as many promotions are not based on knowledge, skills, experience and abilities, but rather on who you know.

      Pros

      There are a few good people that you will work with but it seems as if they are just on your side in a war zone.

      Cons

      The top down approach does not work. Much of the administration is corrupt. Teachers get bad reviews left and right if the administration does not like them for whatever reason. The only consequences in the system are implemented on the teachers and not the students. For example, if a student hits a teachers, it is the teachers fault. If you quit your job, the school can go to MSDE (also corrupt) and revoke your certification.
