Pros

I’ve worked at Bandwidth for 2 years now, and the first thing I discovered is that achievements are noticed….by everybody. I’ve received congratulations from employees I’d never even met. It’s a good feeling to know that your accomplishments are recognized by more than just your immediate co-workers. The company strives to achieve a work/life balance. Many companies talk about it, but I’ve never worked for a company that actually does it. Having 90 minutes at lunch in order to work out is amazing and really helps break up the day. We’ve always had access to a gym or various lunch sports, but now, we also have a personal trainer on site 3 days a week. We’ve also had company-wide competitions the last 3 months that have led to multiple days off for the entire company. I cannot stress enough how amazing it is to have health insurance paid for 100%. The CEO, David, is extremely approachable and accessible. He has a Q&A every Thursday that’s open to all employees. He genuinely cares about the employees here and strives to make this the best place to work in the area.

Cons

I’ve had 10 desks in the two years I’ve worked here. Some of this was due to the fact that we moved the entire company to a different building and others were from promotions, but this company is constantly evolving. If you can’t handle rapid change, this may not be the company for you. Communication could be better. Every quarter, we go over the financials from the previous quarter, but rarely do we go over projections for the future. Maybe it’s confidential, maybe it’s not, but it would still be nice to see a vision for the future.

Finally...I've found my work "home"

Pros

I've worked for the company for only a short time, but it is nothing short of fantastic so far. I initially interviewed with Bandwidth.com for a position that I did not get; however, the entire interview process, from initial phone call with the recruiting manager through the face to face time with the employees, was so impressive that I knew this was a company that I wanted to work for. I was disappointed at first, but, I continued to follow the company and check back for new positions. Luckily, I found one! I contacted the recruiting manager immediately and she was more than happy to discuss the job with me and worked with me to interview again. This is a competitive company, both outside and inside the company. If you want to be pushed to be better than you have imagined, this is the place for you. The company is motivated to move forward and always strive to be the best, so be prepared for every day to be different. If you want the "normal" (aka boring) job where you come in, do your same 5 tasks per day and go home, you will not find that here. For the first time, I have found a company that truly understands that if you trust your employees and treat them like adults; they'll give it their best every time.

Cons

Getting completely "up to speed" is a little slower here than I'd imagined. That can be a good thing or a bad thing; it all depends on what you're used to in past experiences. I'm a "throw me in the deep end" kind of employee, so it has been harder for me. It's getting better, though.

Pros

In my 13 years, I have never worked for a company that makes you feel like part of the team so quickly. During the first 10 minutes of the interview, I knew I had to work here. It was not your standard "grilling" of questions you normally get. Instead it felt like a casual conversation, a group of people getting to know each other. You are asked questions to make sure you are a technical and culture fit, but it is done in such a way that you don't even remember you are being interviewed. People Services (HR) really understands that interviews are a two-way street, and they want to make sure you get time to ask your questions, and that you fully understand the position and the culture. I have never had so much contact from People Services about a status update in the past. Most places you won't hear anything after a interview, till they have an offer. Bandwidth reaches out to you every step of the way. The company and People Services strongly believe in, making sure people are happy so that they stay. Any concerns are listened to. Everyone that I have meet since being an employee loves their job, believes in the company and what they are doing. The company really shows they trust and believe in their employees too. Some of the benefits offered are just not heard of at any other company.

Cons

The starting days off is a bit less then what I am use to. However you do get more days of PTO after your first year.
