Pros

Great training, good management team, they sell the positions very well and try to get you to succeed. Good products to offer the senior market. Decent commissions and renewals.

Cons

Leads are woked over by many people in the office at the same time. The name recognition is not there to the people they we are contacting. Needs a better way to position products against the competition, AARP and Blue Cross. Must be good on the phone to cold call leads. Mgmt is selective in who they give leads to and they don't give a starting agent enough time to get the hang of the phone proceedures

Pros

Potential to make a good income. Good co-workers (at least in my office).

Cons

Very rigid work schedule - Must be in the office on Tuesdays & Fridays making at least 100 outbound sales calls. Must book 8 appointments a day for Monday, Wednesday & Thursday. Captive agent selling only Bankers Life, Colonial Penn and Humana products. Clients who comparatively shop will find as good a product (health & life insurance) in the marketplace at much cheaper rates. Product line is very limited. Terrible sales lead system. Free leads are years old on prospecive clients who have been called at least a dozen times over that period. Paid leads ($7) are non-exclusive. You may have paid $7 for a lead that has also been sold to another agent in the company. The "turning 65" list is a public list that is available to every health insurance company in America - and every company (including your own fellow agents) is calling them. New agents complain about slow initial compensation payments. You should have a good reserve of your own money before relying on the Bankers initial commissions. Empahsis on making the outbound sales calls and not teaching new agents how to book the appointment or close the sale. "Make the 100 calls, book the 8 appointments a day and everything will fall into place". Doesn't work well without prior sales or insurance experience.
