Pros

Autonomous and flexible small banking firm. Allows career sabbaticals and flexible start/finish times at work. Well-heeled social club program. Work allows 2 days of paid volunteer leave a year. Lots of staff have been working for most of their working life at the same department. Work colleagues are friendly and provide support. Work pressure intense and gradually building due to aggressive sales focus. Bankwest aims to be the best bank outside of the big four and with a good executive management team (most from CBA) they will definitely reach that goal.

Cons

Prediction is that Commonwealth Bank (CBA) will start to introduce more of their work practices onto the Bankwest employees. So in time to come dont be surprised to find more cut throat measures to streamline work flow process to be more like CBA. There has been numerous restructures within the banking departments but no redundancies yet, more of a wait and see approach.

Pros

Almost all people (front level staff) are friendly to work with and supportive to achieve day to day work and goals.

Cons

Due to CBA take over; Senior management is constantly uprooting their staff and moving them around every couple of months, without ever bothering to consultant any of the parties involved. In recent times, front level staff are under enormous pressure to perform, and are being given first & final warnings over almost anything. This is leading to all staff constantly being worried about their job security & unsure of the outlook of the company's future.
