Pros

Large company which includes many great people. Pay is under the market, but it is a job.

Cons

Most of the highest positions are not posted, or only posted after they've chosen who will be getting it. They tend to only hire people into these positions from the same small circle of yes men/women. There are then no new ideas, just the same baby boomers congratulating one another on their successes. In this way, no one will question their processes or want to change things, and will keep telling each other that they're doing a great job. Reality is that they will continue to be only ever be a hospital company, with its only strengths being the ability to foster fear and an immense lack of conscience towards its employees and patients. If only the Board knew what was really going on, I can't imagine they'd keep this management team in place.

Pros

Good, hard working, dedicated employees. Skilled surgeons and anesthesiologists, in a pretty building.

Cons

Gaping disconnect between those who create the policies and those tasked with carrying them out. "According to the needs of the hospital" trumps all.

Pros

Good Pay, friendly coworkers, flexible scheduling.

Cons

Poor upper and middle management that are disconnected with staff on the front line. Micromanagement everywhere, benefit cuts, PTO cuts, layoffs, overworked, focus on budget control, increased nurse patient ratios make taking care of high acuity patients difficult, not the best place to work anymore, used to be, do not recommend as employer of choice, employees are not valued anymore.
