EXCESSIVE “TEST CALLS”

Recommend

Pros

Overall the co-workers/staff in the department was wonderful. The spirit of “teamwork” was outstanding.I truly miss the people

Cons

The overwhelming Quality Assurance “test calls” referred to as: MEDALLION were absolutely overwhelming and ridiculous; causing more needless stress to a job that is already was extremely challenging and incredibly stressful. These annoying internal tests calls_were insulting to my intelligence and integrity; which prompted me to leave BANNER Health.

Pros

While Banner offers strong benefits on paper, the reality behind the scenes is disappointing. Accessing care as an employee was shockingly difficult—I called in December 2024 for a wellness exam and to establish a primary care provider and was scheduled for an appointment in July 2025, only to receive a letter recently pushing it out to April 2026. No call, no explanation. If you're expecting timely care, prepare to be let down.

Cons

MANAGEMENT is the biggest con for Banner all the way to the top. During my short at Banner, I was told it could take up to a year to feel comfortable in my role. I accepted that and was eager to learn, but asking questions was clearly discouraged. I was told by my leader to stop asking and "look everything up in the system." As someone who has led successful teams before, this was disheartening. Questions foster growth. Shutting them down reflects poor leadership. What I saw was a culture where leadership prioritized their own success over their team’s development. There was little to no desire to mentor, support, or empower.
