Cons

Hospital & Laboratory management had been falling apart since 2020, so our laboratory director was under review by her bosses multiple times for the extremely high turnover. I have worked in much larger hospitals and have never seen the level of turnover with phlebotomists as I saw here. Many times if not always we would be working at 20% of employees during overcrowding in the hospital with no warning. We wouldn't know our schedules for 1-2 weeks until 1 day prior. Most times we were over-scheduled the hours we had been hired initially for. Guilt tripped if we turned down being called in on top of already working OT. Very hostile/toxic environment. Had employees hired that became physical with other employees, had written complaints from employees, patients, and Doctors, would show up late or not at all, and management chose to keep them instead of employees who were loyal and had been there for at least 6+ months when they were only there for less than a month in most cases. They underpay employees and pulled past employees from retirement when they couldn't hire new ones to replace them.
