Pros

Good pay, some quality client events & free food. Smart business model if systems could scale. Some good people in HR, payroll and risk management functions. Netork of smart professionals around the country to contact.

Cons

Lacking many basics needed for success. Highly political & full of unwritten favoritism rules--more like high school than a professional company. No job descriptions or training. Systems non-existent or woefully out of date. Very unclear reporting or lines of responsibility--highly variable even within branch. Much busywork, micromanagement & longer than necessary workdays. More like a start-up with no upside equity. Not recommended for for professionals who are used to higher quality work environments. High turnover of good people.

your a number they dont know your name they will send you to under armor which will use you for about a month then lay you off so they can get more temps. they talk about hiring you on through the company but they never will

Good learning opportunity. Diverse small-business clientele.

Cons

Small branch was run by an incompetent manager who was constantly gone and unaccounted for. He was supposed to be drumming up new business. Instead there was no new business for months and we lost several clients, including our largest. Since compensation depends on profit sharing, this matters. There was no oversight of him. Consistent turnover of high-level staff wasn't a red flag to corporate. BBSI is a technological dinosaur; they tried to appeal to tech companies but BBSI is way too far behind the tech curve to be considered. Management constantly praised BBSI despite major corporate malfeasance.
