Pros

Benefits. Fun, young crowd to work with.

Cons

Everything. The executive team. The CEO. He's constantly being featured in the news about how employees are his #1 priority, yet this past December he let go of almost 40 people in the company in order to maintain profitability. He parades around like he loves them so much, yet when push comes to shove, he's quick to let them go when times are tough.

Basis is going downhill quickly and letting go nearly 10% of their workforce this year is very telling of that. Many of the employees terminated had been with Basis for 10+ years and were carelessly let go via a five minute phone call with a stranger from HR reading a statement telling them that Basis has suddenly decided they’re better off without them. The higher-ups treat their employees like pawns and I wonder how they sleep at night knowing how negatively they’ve impacted dedicated employees’ livelihoods. If Basis were actually transparent about their status in this recession and didn't put on such a front, perhaps they’d deserve a pinch of the respect and praise they so desperately crave. You’ll notice in several other reviews here mention there is a “honeymoon phase” when you’re new to Basis, but be warned that it’s not genuine and you are seen as extremely disposable, no matter your tenure or good work.
