Management. Plain and simple. I didn’t receive adequate training. The staff I inherited weren’t adequately trained prior to my hire either. When my entire staff contracted COVID, I was forced to do the ISR, CSA, and AC jobs by myself. All while being with the company less than 90 days. My manager not once reached out to help or provide guidance. She left on vacation and never notified me or directed me to someone else in case I needed help or had questions. Upon her return, she was quick to be critical of the job I was doing, although my branch sales and installations were up. When I mentioned this to her, she wasted no time in letting me know that the improvement in the branch wasn’t attributed to my efforts. She attributed it to the economy turning around as COVID was diminishing. Needless to say, that deflated the drive and will I had built to continue improving. When you are hired, management stresses that you need to be available essentially every day for most of the day. Yet, they are not available when you need them. Also at the time of hire they urge you to ask as many questions as possible because according to them, this is not a job you learn in 3-9 months. I was criticized for asking questions. Bath Fitter stresses a friendly culture, but management is definitely not friendly. It’s evident they are not good leaders, are not sufficiently prepared or educated to lead, and are much too insecure to be a leader.
