Pros
Baton Rouge General is a great place to work. Employees are able to receive holiday pay and almost always can pick up extra hours. The staff is truly amazing! Mostly everyone is very helpful and tries to work as a team. This is a great way to get healthcare experience and see what other careers in hospitals are like.
Cons
I am sure everyone already knows the job is challenging before taking it, but I very much feel like PCAs should be paid more. The amount of work that they do is not worth what they get paid at all. Often times shifts have been very understaffed, which it seems like the industry as a whole is going through so can’t really blame Baton Rouge General. I have worked plenty of shifts where I was the only PCA for the day.
