A great place to learn because you often take on more than the job description tells you, multiple different floors and specialties so it's easy to transfer floors, most of your coworkers try to look out for each other, 3 months of paid orientation for new grads, at least a month of paid orientation for new staff on floor, recently gave raises across the board so the pay is one of the highest in the state
Cons
Every single floor in this hospital is chronically understaffed, I worked on two different floors and have friends on other floors and I've never heard of anyone happy with the ratios, super dangerous ratios at times, I've had as many as 8 patients on a med/surg tele floor as a charge nurse with only 1 year of experience under my belt, they force their new grads to become charge nurse even if you express that you're not ready, management gaslights you when you bring up unsafe staffing issues, have had multiple coworkers act rude and discourage asking questions or for help
