“Discrimination” in the Pittsburgh region

There are absolutely no pros.

Cons

Beacon discriminates against their employees especially females! They lie to potential employees during the interview process and tell you that they value and respect their employees and that you have a great future if you come to work for them....then once you get hired, they harass, belittle and set you up for failure then terminate your employment! They have done this to many females in the Pittsburgh region.

Beacon is an extraordinary company that inspires one to want to “do well by doing good”. We have industry leaders managing each department and their knowledge is shared throughout the organization. Growing my career with Beacon has been an amazing experience in which I am grateful for. Our leadership team is phenomenal and their passion for affordable housing is infectious!

Cons

Company growth is certainly not a con, however the take over of an entire portfolio seems to have stretched every department a little thin. From the field it appears that department heads need more resources to support them and their efforts. From a site level perspective our teams are already challenged with keeping up with property maintenance needs in which some have limited funding. If physical resources are needed in other areas consideration for roving maintenance teams should be had. As REAC inspections become more challenging these roving team members could assist in the preparation for inspections.
