The best reasons to work at Beacon are the people. We have great teams and we have amazing residents. Beacon also pays fairly, has a robust benefits package, and a great bonus program. In addition, this is job where you are achieving something good for society and for the people in your community - the type of housing we provide and the services we make available for our residents really set Beacon apart from the average housing company.

Cons

Working for Beacon can be challenging as we are a growing company and we learn as we grow. I enjoy the challenges provided on a daily basis and look forward to growing with my team.

Pros

Beacon Communities is an amazing company to work for. Senior Management truly cares about what the organization does and also who works for the organization. From the top down, it feels like you are working with family. The teams working at the properties have so much responsibility - it is as if you are running your own small company which allows you to learn so many different aspects of business (finance, marketing, sales, accounting, etc). There are many opportunities for advacement - if you want to grow your career - and there are also many opportunities to have fun! The benefits are also great. Lots of paid time off, good 401K opportunities, and tuition reimbursement for anyone looking to further their education. I cannot say enough good things about working for Beacon Communities. This is a very caring organization - when you work here, you make a difference in other people's lives. At the same time, they care about you as an individual. Family and work life balance is always stressed and supported. I can't say enough good things about working at Beacon Communities - I feel lucky to be a part of this organization!

Cons

There is a lot of responsibility involved with every position - so even though Work Life Balance is supported, it can be difficult to achieve.

Pros

- lots of room for personal/career growth and other opportunities within the company; promotions from within the company is something they really want to do - great benefits (401k match, health, dental, etc) & family oriented programs; vacation & "flex" time is a plus! - treats their employees well and with respect - excellent training programs and team building events; creates fun environments while working together - "open door policy" allows to always reach out for additional help & resources; other properties/employees are always willing to lend a helping hand if needed - love the people I work with and my on-site team!

Cons

- some properties are short staffed and financially unstable; leaving employees feeling overworked and underpaid. pay is based on what your property can afford, which is not necessarily reflective of work ethic, etc. - work/life balance needs to become a bigger focus, seems like managers and supervisors and there early, leaving late, and alot of the time bringing work home with them - I think all positions (PM, MS, APM, etc) should have somewhat equal pay; if their properties cannot budget what they deserve to be paid, that should be a discussion on where the difference could come from - budget season is a nightmare; of course it's going to be stressful, but it's way too dragged out! - sometimes there is too much pressure on certain positions or properties; causing a very high stress level
