Turnover is through the roof.... No wonder
Pros
The only pro is a select handful of people I had the pleasure of working with. That's not really attributed to the company though as there are nice people everywhere...
Cons
Senior management preaches values on platforms such as "tradition", "family", "integrity" which is all a giant lie considering the inability to retain staff at the corporate office. The company takes advantage of young people coming through and will move them up relatively quickly but usually at pay scales 25 to 30% less than their peers doing the same exact job. There is no reward for longevity or loyalty within the company and the turnover will continue to reflect that. Low morale combined with lack of compensation makes for horrendous company culture. Workplace additions that boost employee morale (and make up for lack of compensation) such as extensive paid time off, paid volunteerism, professional developments and trainings, year-end bonuses/401k matches, etc. are practically nonexistent. The company is over 100 years old and it shows- they will continue to lose young professionals with technical skills and business savvy mindsets because of the above. The worst part is the company turns a blind eye to it because at the end of the day they are a privately held corporation with 0 accountability and so long as the family continues to line their pockets they believe their job is done.
