Pros

Financially stable company, small, regional, local

Cons

Much of the senior management is ill suited for their positions, many were unable to read let alone utilize sales reports, a lot of very weak management at the store level as well resulting in their attempting to micro manage certain aspects of the business, NO recognition for positive results.

Pros

The merchandise is Florida friendly and affordably priced; employees have access to coupons and special discounts. Vacation time was accrued throughout the year. The Hourly staff at my store were caring, hard working individuals.

Cons

The cons are so many that they can't all be mentioned, Retail is reactionary to begin with, but Beall's seemed to change over it's CEO and upper echelon every 2 years. Subsequently the store managers got to out stay their supervisors, which meant that yes men that did very little work got to keep their jobs and burden the mid level managers with the bulk of the responsibility for interviewing, hiring, and managing staff , as well as dealing with customer issues , inventory and paperwork. Raises were laughable.

Pros

The hours are stable and most the people are pretty nice to work with. The discount is decent. They definitely focus on promoting from within the company.

Cons

It is a pretty toxic environment, lots of complaining on a daily basis. They pay far below industry standard and there is constant shuffling of staff as people leave, so there is no real sense of stability. They are constantly reacting in the moment so you feel like you are always chasing your tail.
