I worked at this hospital for several years, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences of my professional career. Within the last year, it became painfully clear that leadership is extremely weak and disconnected from the realities of their staff. The People Team (Human Resources) seems to prioritize a bloated administrative workforce over hiring and retaining well-qualified providers, which ultimately harms patient care and employee morale. One glaring issue is the hospital’s alarming trend of weeding out older employees. Instead of valuing the experience and wisdom that long-term staff bring, there is an implicit bias that discourages older workers from feeling secure in their positions. This creates a toxic environment where fear and insecurity thrive. The hospital is struggling, and it shows. The closed-door tactics of the executive team and their instability creates a breeding ground of anxiety among employees. Leadership rarely addresses underlying issues, opting instead for gaslighting tactics that leave staff feeling unheard and unvalued. Concerns brought up in meetings are routinely dismissed, which only exacerbates the problem. For new prospective employees, I must emphasize: this is not "the employer of choice." Exploring other opportunities is highly recommended. In summary, if you value your career and well-being, I strongly advise against seeking employment at this hospital. It's a place where dedication gets overlooked, leadership is absent, and the future seems bleak.
