I thought that career progression was unlimited during my first few years but am finding it very difficult to develop and progress on a desired career path. Have been told on multiple interviews that you need experience to do a specific job and then get told later the way to get experience is to do the job.

First, they hired the wrong person for the job. I am a senior database developer with no experience with C#. I was there around 2 months and was only give one small assignment that I was qualified to accomplish. Mostly they had me upgrading a terrible old C# windows application. I stressed several times that I was uncomfortable with the project, but they did nothing. They did have a decent C# developer on the team that was working on SQL work, and was struggling with it. On my start date they did not have a desk for me. They ended up moving me a few times before I was moved to a desk in a hallway with two people from accounting. Several time I attempted to complete work on a project, only to find that the same work had been created on 2 tickets for separate departments. Also, my supervisor was very strange. He had an odd management style that was not conductive to a professional environment. Parking was a nightmare, if you left for lunch you would have to park next door or across the street.
