The ability to move up in the company is very good. They will reward hard work when they see it.

The upper management are horrible motivators. They need to remember that it falls from the top and in a service industry, employees need to be happy.

The offered a generous relocation package that included 3 months of corporate housing. The also provided a nice sign on bonus.

Cons

The biggest issue at Belk is the culture. The organization is full of people who have been with the company for years and years. For those coming from outside of the company, prepare for resistance. This organization isn't keen to change. You must assimilate or otherwise be unhappy.
