Pros
You get great discounts even on top of sale items. It's a fun place to work if your area manager is nice, company match 401K, health benefits, flexible schedule (easy to change with other employees).
Cons
The management promotes teamwork with words but your pay is based on how much you sold in the previous six months. So there are people who do everything they are expected to do and then there are the people who stand at the register and take as many sales as they can. If Belk really wanted to create a team environment, pay would not be based on sales. Also it is hard physical work if you do the job you are expected to do. Lots of standing and walking and walking and carrying heavy loads of clothes. Feet can get quite sore.
