Pros

1. Friendly environment 2. Overtime facility 3. Free tea and snacks(unhealthy ofcourse) 4. Within the main city (Janakpuri) 5. Good appraisals and performance bonus

Cons

1. Though there is overtime policy but if you are short of work, you will be underpaid as well since you need to log every minute/hour in the timesheet. Suggestion - if employee doesn't have work, minimum promised salary should still be given. 2. No fixed timings. Team members come anytime, other team members keep waiting for them due to dependency. Suggestion - Fixed office timings will prevent such situations. 3. Need to complete 8 hours a day at any cost + required hours of the month as well. So if I am putting extra hours one day, why can't I leave early the next day? Suggestion - required hours of month should make importance since employee may work extra a day, he can work less any other day. 4. Regular late stays as there are no fixed timings. Suggestion - manage work, employees and deadline such that everyone can leave for home on time to have his/her personal time. 5. Frequent weekend shifts as well (work from home) and worst part is people agree to work as well. This gives OT but affects work life balance. 6. Poor work life balance as everyone tend to work more than 8 hours a day. 7. Need to put personal breaks in timesheet during any company wide celebration. 8. Micro management is done. 9. Lack of coordination of managers with client and offshore team. 10. Appraisal process is completely opaque and delayed. Suggestion - Add an interface on the portal where employee can track the appraisal process. 11. Company name is no where mentioned outside the building. Suggestion - At least have a board outside.

We appreciate the time you have invested in putting together this feedback. Your comments reflect a misunderstanding of some policies, which is surprising after a three-year association, and surprising as the policies are clear and in writing. When a new assignment is not immediately available, employees can instead devote time to learning new technologies and honing their skills further, and are fully paid for that effort. Of course, we can’t pay them overtime for learning a new skill. If for some reason you have been out of work and have failed to escalate the matter in a timely fashion, there is no way for us to be aware of the situation and provide you with work. Separately, if you work 8 hours every day, you have automatically covered the minimum hours needed for a month. There are no extra hours needed. In fact, if you have worked 9 hours on one day and work 7 hours the next day, that averages out to the minimum hours of 8 hours a day and that's fine too. Of course we discourage employees from creating a pattern when they work extra on some days and leave early on other days, as that may result in conflict when urgent client work comes in with a short delivery window. I'm surprised you aren't aware that we do have fixed timing. We expect all our team members to be in office by 10. Yes, sometimes colleagues come late due to personal reasons, or after working late the previous day, but that is fair, in our opinion. If your work is suffering due to another team member’s unavailability, you need to escalate it to your manager or to HR so corrective action can be taken. We haven't received any HR escalations related to this matter. If you haven't escalated it or don't want to escalate it for some reason, that will not resolve the matter. If you really are facing any trouble like this, please bring it to our notice immediately. It is only in crunch situations that we request that a team member stays late or works on a weekend, and when they do not wish to, we always look for alternatives. We have many amazing team members who take ownership of their projects and choose, unasked, to take on extra work to meet a deadline, and we compensate this with overtime. At the same time we have other valued team members whose family obligations do not permit this, who keep more ordinary timings. I agree there have been delays in the evaluation system. As you have mentioned yourself, we have good appraisals and in order to evaluate individuals fairly, we need to gather feedback from leads and other peers to enable accurate evaluation. Please understand that this is a time consuming process. Having said this, I understand it's something we can improve on and I will definitely take this down as a feedback to work upon.

Pros

- Great company to work with. It offers a good compensation. - The work culture is pretty good. The management listens to what an employee has to say. - Moreover, the company has great projects to work on. While working here you definitely have to keep yourself up to date with the new technologies, hence great for your career. - Option to work from home. - If you do your work properly and on time, company will go out of the way to help you. - Hefty salary packages - Free snacks! - Overtime benefits- company pays 1.5 or 2 times the hourly salary for every extra hour worked after 8 hours. That is pretty good. Rarely does a company do that in India. - Good HR people- I don't know about others, but the HR team is pretty good here. - Team outings There are a lot more good things about Belzabar - don't have time to keep on writing out here.

Cons

- The company is a bit over strict in terms of timings. If an employee enters the premises later than 10 am more than 2 times, there is a salary cut of 1% for each subsequent day. This is a way too harsh. Have some other rule in place, such that working 1 extra hour to cover that time etc. Have polls in the company and let employees be a part of the decision making process. This would be a great starting point for that. Cant think of any other cons right now.

Pros

I worked at Belzabar Software Design after finishing my undergraduate degree for two years before pursuing higher studies. Remember to factor in my work stint (a long time ago) when reading my review which will be a personalized one rather than generalized. Pros: * As a fresher the starting salary is extremely competitive and the highest for similar organizations. * I had no prior experience with the Java technology stack but I was assigned into a project using J2EE. I like being thrown into the deep end of the ocean in order to learn to swim, so I had a great time learning the nuances of the language and the technology stack. I had a great learning experience by trying to do new things. There is very little hand-holding which gives you a very rapid learning curve. As a software developer, the flexibility I got in designing and implementing a complex application from scratch was invaluable. * I was assigned a lot of responsiblity as a fresher in a new high-profile project which had just started. Depending on your performance, the organization shows a lot of trust in you which is great for your confidence and career. * Your work gets a lot of attention by senior management and it is rewarded by appraisals and promotions so its extremely easy to progress in your career and get rewarded for it. * You get what you work for. The per-hour pay and the overtime remuneration ensures that your extra work gets rewarded financially. * The work atmosphere was extremely friendly and informal, I made a lot of friends there, used to go out for 6 o clock cricket and football matches and the team building measures like monthly outings and yearly trips were always fun. This translated to extremely helpful colleagues who helped each other in their work. * My direct project lead was a fantastic person to work with. In retrospect, he had an invaluable contribution to my career. I also worked on a lot of projects directly with the director of the company who is an awesome person. * It's very easy to talk to people at all stages of management because there was very little red-tape.

Cons

* The visibility of the employees working out of the India office should be improved in the form of a technology blog or team profile or something else. * At times and depending on your profile the work-life balance can suffer. This can be particularly aggravated because of the time zone difference between the clients and the developers. * The workflow process is very ad-hoc and dependent on the team and individuals handling it. This can be systematized with recent agile working methodology and tools. * There was often an over-reliance on some key individuals which created unnecessary pressure on them and choke points. * Since developers were statically assigned to projects with very little chance of rotation (at least for key projects), after some point this can give a feeling of stagnation when the learning curve starts to flatten out.
