Pros

Ok pay, but definitely underpaid at this position

Cons

Everything. If I could share pictures, I would have hundreds of the amount of crap you go through. Unsafe equipment, terrible loading, terrible schedules, and that’s only a few things. I’ll list my main cons: 1) You have very little notice of your schedule. You literally only get your schedule (most of the time) 1-2 hours before you’d have to go to bed. Schedules are only shown to us at 5pm or later, for the next day. Extremely hard to set up appointments or other things because of this. 2) Horrendous working conditions. You will constantly be at risk of injury with this job. Most equipment is extremely dated and falling apart. Straps for pallets are rare, ramps have little to no grip because they are decades old, and trucks look like they’ve been in use since the 50’s. Maintenance is terrible for the trucks, if something breaks, it isn’t likely to EVER be fixed, and it’s only your problem if it is broken. 3) You have to work 2-3x harder because of the absolutely horrible warehouse workers. They are the laziest people I’ve ever seen, and get awards for constantly messing our trucks up. Pallets put in backwards, in wrong positions, or just stacked entirely badly, is extremely common. You will never have a good day at this job. I’ve been here for almost 2 years and have yet to have an actually well loaded truck. 4) Corporate does not care about working conditions. They are so money hungry that they are willing to screw us over just to achieve it. Sales reps are constantly bothering us about what time we will be to a stop, and some go as far as promising times to customers, just for us to show up hours later than promised because of the previously mentioned issues. Corporate’s priorities are blatantly obvious, they don’t care about us. I just would not work here, period. This job is very physically demanding, with high risk of injury. Pay is not worth the work you have to do. Higher ups don’t care, and are very out of touch with lower end workers. Sales reps make the job much harder with the empty promises and messing up routes. There are many more cons I could list, but some of them are smaller and more intricate ones I’ve noticed over the time I’ve worked here.
