Pros

Some good people work there.

Cons

This company is incredibly mismanaged! They are very lucky they are in a business that is getting more popular otherwise this company would have been run into the ground long ago. The wife of the CEO screams and curses at employees all day long. It is right out of a TV show. The CFO is stuck being treated horribly and just smiles as he is screamed at. Do yourself a favor and pass on this job. No COVID plan and desks are on top of each other. 200+ employees in office all in a wide open area. Scary!!!

Terrible people skills

Pros

They are always hiring more people. Some staff is extremely dedicated to the company. Free lunch once per month. Wonderful eating space. Top floor open view. Company is growing fast. And we get to do a talent show, which is fun.

Cons

People skills: no member of leadership has any. The president/owner yells, insults and belittles people daily. Thought it was a joke when I read those reviews before being hired. Not a joke, this happens daily in front of everyone and it gets very uncomfortable. CFO has no personality or people skills, which can be expected from a finance person. But when you run HR, you'd like to see some. None to be found though. Occasionally yells at people, constantly cuts people off and micro manages everything all while having extreme difficulty making a decision. Shows no trust in his staff and insults one staff member to another in earshot of other people not on staff. Also uncomfortable to hear. Business skills: President/owner thinks she knows everything and while she does know educational materials very well, she doesn't know how to manage a growing company. She could use some help and advice but she refuses to accept feedback or help, she has to run everything herself. Publishing/Editorial is a disaster. Almost every product launches with issues and seldom on time. CFO is similar to the president in that he thinks he knows everything but doesn't and refuses to take input. He dictates all aspects of his organization, so if you want a job where your opinion or expertise is valued, he doesn't appear to be the person to work for. IT is confusing. Company is growing so fast, IT can't keep up and like the president and CFO, they don't listen to anyone providing input. In summary, leaders and managers with no skills at being leaders or managers.
