Pros

Free product and there was a great coffee shop next door.

Cons

I want to start off by saying I was extremely excited to start working at Benefit Cosmetics with the hopes of climbing the corporate ladder because I was so passionate about makeup and I stood behind the brand. But, in all honesty, Benefit made me absolutely hate makeup. I want to start off with my managers. My managers were unprofessional, stuck up and they truly only cared about hitting the stores quota. During my interview, the manager and assistant manager talked badly about an employee who currently worked there (first red flag) and I brushed it off because I was excited to interview with them and it didn't register what was happening. Another memory was when I was berated and screamed at in front of the entire store because a client was told she had to be put on a 10-minute wait list because she was a walk-in on a very busy, Summer Saturday (she was NOT turned away). While my manager decided to kiss her feet and completely ignore me, I cried in the office and was told to get back on the floor. When I had enough and went to put my two weeks in, my newer manager (who was also on his way out, which I realized contributed to his reaction) tried everything he could to talk me out of it (I was going back to school) and even had the audacity to compare myself to him and how I “needed to be more like him when he was in college.” Now, let’s move on to the co-workers. My co-workers did not take to newcomers and would become extremely catty and hostile. On numerous occasions I had to deal with the wrath and pettiness some displayed if I had higher sales, it was ridiculous I also experienced racism amongst my coworkers, which was completely tolerated and ignored by the managers. Other than my experience with my managers and coworkers, Benefit is a California brand but one of the MOST WASTEFUL companies I have ever worked for. Not only do they not care about the environment, they actually encourage unnecessary waste. There is absolutely no need to get a gigantic box for a single piece of paper for a display when we could have just printed it out in store? Please, save yourself. If you love makeup, this is not the company for you. I wish I knew ahead of time how things would be because I never would have put myself through this. This company is toxic, going downhill and will most likely be completely irrelevant in the beauty world in a few years. Good riddance.

Pros

The benefits are pretty good. They want me to write more than 20 words but that's literally all that's good about this place.

Cons

Wow where do I beginning? Terrible company to work for you have no life what's so ever I don't know who my boss is cause behind my boos there's another boss and so on...people are rude af expecting much more than what you can give them. Tipping out is the worst because when the cash register is low you won't get tipped out and have to wait at least 3 weeks to get your tips while they continue to take it out of your checks. They expect you to reach your unbelievable "goals". Such a stressful life working here. I've become depressed af working here. I hope this helps.

Pros

Full time hours, loud fun music, tips.

Cons

Where do I start.... First of all, the personal goals are stupid high. If you don't reach your goals, you get written up (even if buisess was slow) The work environment is despicable. You get 1 break a day. You are back to back with appointments, and you have to sometimes work through your breaks. Forget about any growth opportunities. The management is the toping of the cake. Fake, snobby, worst attitudes I've ever seen in a professional place of buisess. I can't believe they are in the positions that they are in. It really shocks me. Talking behind Thier employees backs, rolling eyes. It's really a lawsuit waiting to happend. Advice: don't work for a benefit boutique. Lvmh needs to drop them.
