Pros
Coworkers tended to be good, hardworking, smart people. Made some lifelong friends working at this company who I've kept in touch with even after leaving. Location is nice, working/living in Charleston is a dream. Had some really good managers (lower leadership only) while working here, people that were truly on our side and willing to help no matter the time/situation. Some very intelligent and competent people. Got lots of free food when I was still working in the office (several years ago).
Cons
There’s not much I can add that hasn’t already been said. I agree with pretty much everything I’ve read in any of the negative reviews and almost nothing I’ve read in the positive reviews. The pay was nowhere near sufficient for the number of hours needed to stay on top of workload. This wasn’t the case when I first started, but in the last 2 or 3 years the amount of work became unmanageable with no semblance of overtime even being hinted at. I was forced into unpaid on-call weekends which was not part of my job description upon joining the team. The stress was unbearable at times; I’m either aware of or directly witnessed several incidents of employees breaking down and crying as a result. Everything has to be a meeting but rarely are the meetings actually worthwhile. Everyone from team leads and up are completely unavailable because they’re constantly in meetings. Micromanagement is actively encouraged. Which is made all the more frustrating when you have more work than any one person could possibly handle. Training is insufficient at best and nonexistent at worst. Upper leadership made frustrating decisions on a regular basis and it felt like even though they were always asking for our opinions, they never actually listened to them. Entire departments are constantly re-organizing with no clearly laid out plans or goals and the focus is on branding and image rather than never-ending issues with the software or staffing.
