Pros

Benefitfocus has lots of cool people and good engineers. Its technology is also quality with some of the latest technologies being tried. Some parts have good processes for requirements as well.

Cons

The senior management understands how to run a factory and a sales team, but not a software engineering company. The environment is noisy and prone to interruption and it is hard to get stuff done. Work from home is rare to nonexistent. Mainly there just is not an understanding of how to get programmers to do their best work as the focus is relentlessly short term and the work environment is counter to productivity. The stress will damage your health if you aren't ready to deal with a lot of it..
