An incredible company that cares about people
Pros
I have worked for Berkshire Communities for 9 years and it's one of the best places I have ever worked. For me it’s all about the people I work with and for every day. It really feels like a family. I have created lifelong friendships here. Work life balance is very important to the company and it’s not just something we strive for, it’s something we do every day. “Be All In” is an important saying at Berkshire. It’s like saying go the extra mile every time. Jump in with both feet and do the best you can do..….when you are picking up trash around the property, working with a current resident on an issue they are having, taking a tour with a prospect, or interviewing a potential employee, take the time to really care about what you are doing. Be better than you were yesterday and the day before. Training is incredible and not only do you get trained usually within the first month you start with the company you also get training throughout your career. There is a career ladder that allows you to move up in the company and gives you support at every turn. You are also assigned a mentor so that you have a peer to reach out to if you need assistance with anything. There is support staff at every level, and you can reach out to any of them for help with leasing, training, recruiting, etc. One last thing to note is the company building blocks are Trust, Honesty, and Integrity. This is something I believe in wholeheartedly and am grateful to work somewhere that shares these beliefs with me.
Cons
We are in the business of real estate so sometimes we lose great teams due to sale. This is the nature of the beast. So instead of saying goodbye, we say see you later!!
