Pros

It's a fun place to work. The management at my store is great, very helpful and flexible. The discount is awesome (cost +5% on most things). Most employees are in their twenties so it's a young environment. Always worked with my schedule when I needed a certain day off. Great place to work if you are in college or just need something part time.

Cons

Pay is average, almost everyone has to work random shifts so it's hard to get a good sleep cycle, hours fluctuate from 32-40 (not good when you're on a budget). Customers don't respect you much, but this is typical in a retail setting.

Pros

Best Buy is an exciting place to work. Being amidst technology is fun, I really enjoy helping the public bridge the gap, and achieve their own concepts and goals with technology. A growing group of the public allows technology to control their lives to the extent that they think that technology is a bad thing, I really like turning it around so that they can command technology to make their lives easier and more fun. Best Buy offers employees a general flexibility that realizes each person is different, and each person will have their own style of selling. Best Buy applies their core philosophies to each employee and allows them to interpret these philosophies. The pay and benefits are relatively competitive for the field, a big plus is the tuition reimbursement program.

Cons

Best Buy has always claimed that they promote from within, this is not exactly true especially when it comes to management level positions. Manager rotation from store to store is very high, if you aspire to rise in the ranks this can be very challenging, as you develop a relationship with your management team and begin to work on plan for promotion, the managers can get moved to a different store, leaving you in a very discouraging position because the new management team has no relationship with you or your plans for promotion. Essentially I am back at square one. I have repeated this process several times, and am so discouraged with this process I put forward little effort in this area anymore.
