Lowest of the low paying

Pros

Easy job for someone wanting to fill hours in the day and for Chatty Cathy’s. Well developed sales program, easy to follow strategy

Cons

-Poor commission structure and overall low pay compared to other sales jobs -no base pay, all commission...including little support for getting leads, build your brand, and uncover leads. -outdated prospecting strategy. Expectation is to drop into small businesses unannounced and to cold call all day long. No digital marketing, no support joining local chamber networking groups, no lead gen -initial training Is a waste of time if you have any sales experience whatsoever. - no risk for company...100% risk for employee.

The BVM Publisher opportunity proudly offers an impressive commission structure unlike any other in the industry. This reviewer has false information in his or her review. BVM has digital programs and digital lead programs, and we encourage certain networking programs. BVM also invests major dollars into each potential Publisher. We understand that the opportunity is not for everyone, but these facts matter.

Pros

There is a LOT of opportunity here to make your own schedule, really run your own business (as a branch of BVM), and make some serious money. The founder delivers the training himself and is passionate about his business. Plus, it's a product that you can believe in. It really is appreciated by the communities.

Cons

Oh wow. I had never done cold calling, and by the second day, I was in shambles. I get it that once you get used to it it becomes easier, but I couldn't handle it. You have to be able to handle a LOT of rejection before you get your magazine off the ground. At training, they focus on hype, energy, and just "making the calls," but you need to be the right kind of person for this. I was not, and I spent several hundred dollars to fly up for training. If you can do cold interactions with a script, this is an AMAZING opportunity, no joke.

Pros

BVM has grown tremendously in the past few years. The success of the publisher field is incredible and in turn, the culture at BVM is positive, encouraging, and packed with tools for success. If you are looking for a place where team-work and independence intersect, this could be for you. Upper management is trusting, and you work for what you want out of your job. There is no hand-holding, but rather realistic expectations and dutiful reward. BVM always tries to go above and beyond and it shows day-in and day-out. They are consistently working on ways to build the team and there is always someone to talk to if you need. Overall, a wonderful place to work!

Cons

None for my role personally.
