Pros

Lets start by saying that our culture is team oriented, you get a lot of help from your upper management team. Work schedule is pretty much as flexible as it can be. PTO is easy to request. Fair compensation for what you do. A lot of feedback on your performance.

Cons

More clear bonus structure .

Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm so pleased to hear that you're feeling supported here at Beyond - and you see how committed we are to both our people and our customers. And it's also great to know that you're able to be flexible with your working hours and PTO! Sounds like we can do more to make sure our bonus structures are transparent and easy to understand - nobody likes an overly complex structure - so thank you for flagging. And truly, thank you for all you do to help our customers grow their business. Cheers to an outstanding H2! -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I couldn’t agree more - whether you’re in one of our four offices around the globe, or working remotely, our environment is one to be celebrated! I also appreciate your feedback around compensation - we continue to review that on a bi-annual basis to ensure we are paying at or above the market. Thanks again and all the best in your career endeavors! -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Great Benefits, Poor Leadership, Lots of Politics

Pros

- Great benefits including unlimited PTO - High standards; you’re encouraged to push yourself - Lots of women in leadership - Transparency. You have the opportunity to ask leadership anonymous questions during the weekly All Hands. - Competitive compensation - Some really great managers (but also some bad ones)

Cons

- Like previous reviews have stated, people seem afraid of the CEO, including members of her own executive leadership team. As a result, VPs are yes-men who do not push back on requests from the CEO even if they directly contradict the existing team strategy. VPs push these unfiltered requests directly to individual contributors who are expected to accommodate them with almost no notice. Quarterly plans can be completely derailed by an idea the CEO had in a meeting you were not involved in. - Office politics run rampant here. Leadership constantly gives lip service to one of the company’s core values “We’re on the same team”, but I’ve legitimately never worked in an environment where that felt less true. - Engineering processes are extremely inefficient and make it difficult to get things across the finish line. Leadership doesn’t care about this, or even seem to recognize the problem exists. The product also has tons of technical limitations that the company is unwilling to invest in fixing. - Company strategy seems to change every other week. There’s no clear goal or vision being worked towards other than “make more money.” - CEO micromanages day-to-day decision-making at the individual contributor level, even in domains she does not have expertise in. This stifles creativity and makes it very difficult to apply the knowledge and best practices you’ve learned throughout your career. - “Data-driven” company with poor data infrastructure. No willingness to invest in improving data infrastructure. - Despite packaging itself as a fast-paced, dynamic company, Beyond as a whole is incredibly resistant to change. Historical decisions and processes are shrouded in politics and any attempt to change things for the better results in unexpected controversy. - Beyond has unlimited PTO, but also has a culture of working while on vacation and never truly unplugging from your work. People are publicly praised for working while on vacation.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide your feedback. I’m glad you found value in our benefits package, our transparent culture, and our diverse set of leaders during your time here, and that you were encouraged by the high standards we set. And thank you so much for sharing your critical feedback - it's so important for us to get this feedback as we continue growing from a start-up stage company to a true growth phase. It sounds like we (and specifically I) have the opportunity to make sure we're clearly articulating strategic direction and ensure that iterations to our tactics are well understood and debated. Thank you for pointing that out - and thank you also for challenging us to make sure we're always finding ways to be on the same team and support the balance of work and life. Thank you again for your review - I know it can be tough to give tough feedback - thank you! -Julie Brinkman, CEO
