Pros

Beyond's culture and values really empower people to make good decisions while working remotely. The company consistently invests time in values and shout-outs up front at all-hands and team meetings. I love that the company's revenue growth is so closely aligned with the success of our clients. If I help our clients make more money, the company directly benefits. It's great to work in the travel industry, and short term rentals are a part of the industry that is highly COVID-resilient and in many places doing better than ever. Beyond is just starting to grow globally, opening up many opportunities for people with different cultural backgrounds and language skills. It might seem a dry and boring topic but I appreciate Beyond's OKR goal-setting framework and recent efforts to create objective-based teams across departments. Beyond is doing the best job I have seen at Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I am proud of the progress made on DEI during a time when the company is growing so quickly. I think I can tell the difference between real effort and cheap talk, and Beyond's DEI effort looks for-real. Finally, I'm proud that job candidates have a good interview experience where they get a chance to SHOW what they can do with a relevant, realistic written interview. I'm pretty confident the experience is good now because of multiple, recent unsolicited positive candidate feedback shared with our leadership team. All this stuff motivates me to write this wordy review in the hopes I can influence a great future colleague who is on the fence and trying to decide which companies are worth their time.

Cons

Onboarding remotely at a fast-paced company can cause some anxiety, but it's not external pressure. Be realistic about the pressure you'll put on yourself - if you're a super-conscientious perfectionist, it's going to be a challenge to ship fast and keep going. It's hard to know if you're doing enough when there's so many different areas where the contributions of new hires are needed and welcomed. You have to be able to forgive yourself for the big challenges you can't take on. I've been able to find a sustainable pace but I can see how onboarding could be especially stressful, especially working remotely. All of this might be true of joining any startup working remotely. The company encourages posting publicly and it can be pretty humbling to get stuck on something basic and ask for help in writing, but this is the best thing to help everyone learn faster. I have found people to be genuinely helpful though, nearly everyone remembers what it was like to be new and wants be supportive. Face-to-face relationships matter, even when most work happens remotely. It's been hard to create F2F relationships as quickly as I hoped while keeping people COVID-safe, but I do see this improving and approve of the company's policies related to COVID.

Thank you very much for your feedback and review. As is often heard here, feedback is a gift. I'm so proud to see that our efforts to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace are being felt meaningfully. I couldn't agree more about how tough it can be onboarding remotely onto a global, distributed workforce. While we've made strides in creating a more structured onboarding, this is an area we'll always need to keep pruning and building. Also don't you love how collaborative everyone is in our public channels? I love that you named that it can be scary to post publicly, but it is so very important that we all learn from each other. And keep the wordy reviews coming! We love to showcase who we are to prospective candidates, so thank you very much for taking the time to do so. -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Pros

- Unlimited PTO - Remote First Company - Amazing Company Culture - Fun Industry with Interesting Client Base (short-term rental managers) I have been with Beyond since the beginning of 2021 and since being hired, we have almost doubled in size (75 employees to close to 150 by the end of the year). The company is in hyper-growth mode, but you wouldn't know that from the way management works with their teams. It has been especially fun being a part of a global company and getting to interact with teammates from across the globe (Our EMEA team is growing fast and take part in group discussions on a weekly basis). I highly recommend Beyond as a place to work and personally feel appreciated, enabled to do my job how I see fit, and are given the autonomy to complete tasks at my own pace/style.

Cons

Startup culture comes with its bumps/challenges. With how fast the company is growing, you sometimes need to roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty with projects/tasks outside of the "typical scope of work" that your role may call for. With that said, exposure to cross-functional teams has its upsides as well.

I'm writing this response on a plane headed to see our new Barcelona office, so I totally agree that it's pretty incredible we have such a global presence! And it's hard to believe that we have doubled in size in such a short time - shout out to our incredible People team for making it look easy. What I also want to say is thank you very much for your review and feedback - because we are growing so fast, I always want to make sure we're getting the feedback we need to grow and be better. And you're totally right - given our pace of growth and ship it culture, we all do need to roll up our sleeves - you know, we all wash dishes as David and I like to say. Our goal is to help STR managers globally succeed, and often that means pitching in outside of our job description - because we care and we go beyond. I love that you named this as a quality we demonstrate - b/c you're totally right. Thank you so much for taking the time to send some feedback our way! -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Pros

- Transparent and accessible leadership team - Growth opportunities for all team members - even during the onboarding process, managers take the time to discuss development opportunities for the long run - Flexible working environment (great work-life balance) - Public recognition is encouraged and displayed at company-wide meetings - Collaborative environment across all teams

Cons

- No real disadvantages as the company is taking good care of growing the right way and not just adding new pieces for the sake of it
