Pros

The company has made a number of changes over the past few months including new leadership, revised vision and values, and goals. There's renewed energy and I'm enthusiastic about the future.

Cons

We've lost some employees recently, but given the market downturn and focus on improving profitability, this isn't surprising. The company is now very lean and we should continue to add people in the future.

Pros

We have a cohesive leadership team moving us into the future of 2020 and beyond. Our machine learning technology is growing like crazy and really hitting home in the market. The company mentality of supporting, listening and educating is amazing and keeps me confident in many more years to come at Big Squid

Cons

The ML space is competitive and adapting to change and the market keeps us on our toes, but all those efforts are well supported by leadership.

Pros

The validation you get to experience from talking to prospective customers every day is refreshing and invigorating. To know that not only are you in a space that's bursting at the seams with activity, but that you are targeting a regularly neglected yet quickly growing segment is motivation to bust your butt everyday. There's been a complete reorganization at the leadership level and it shows in immeasurably large ways. Talking to the new CEO is like talking to a friend. Everyone banters and challenges preconceived notions and assumptions in a way that instills faith in everyone throughout the entire organization. It truly feels like a startup that's innovating and not like a big corporation, and exciting is the simplest way to describe it.

Cons

In the same vein as above (it's a startup and not a corporation), you have to be willing to break the mold of "9 to 5" sometimes. You don't get to just check boxes and say you did the minimum work required, sometimes you have to put in a late night if it means getting something done on time. The good side of that is it is very much "work hard play hard". If you're getting close to burning out or we've just been through a sprint, it's not uncommon to tack a few days onto your weekend for a staycation.
