Pros
Bigleaf puts their people first! I loved my time at Bigleaf. It was a special place to work with unique and interesting people. The people are really what make this company an amazing place to work- nearly everyone has a high level of emotional intelligence, maturity, and kindness. They do good work effectively, with room to learn and grow. The product is pretty darn cool, too. Everyone brings their A-game and does their best work. No micromanagement. Bigleaf culture is unique in that it is close knit (which can be a challenge in remote-first!), and they really do care about you as an individual employee and a person, a work family that you choose is really how I would describe it, with glowing colors. Leadership listens and takes constructive criticism to heart. PTO/Sick/Covid Time is generous and on-par with other employees in the area and industry standards.
Cons
-Things were a bit stressful for a few months while the board/leadership was working on ramp up of various projects, and work/life balance took a nosedive for most employees. This was quickly corrected and I'd like this to be the reflection of more of a "neutral" comment than a negative one, as it speaks VOLUMES to a company and leadership team that sees problems, asks for feedback, and then quickly implements those suggested solutions. -Comparatively average compensation plans -References to Religion/church is brought up between employees and leadership more than made me comfortable.
