My experience at Billtrust has been disappointing, largely due to toxic management practices. Despite consistently putting significant effort into my work and driving measurable improvements to productivity, I have received little to no recognition or positive feedback. Instead, my manager often takes credit for my contributions, excludes me from critical meetings, and fosters a culture of mistrust and self-preservation. The company conducts regular employee surveys, but these appear to be more performative than actionable. For example, while HR often claims that metrics are improving, this feedback feels disconnected from the reality many employees face. It’s widely acknowledged within the organization that management issues are a primary driver of turnover, yet meaningful steps to address this recurring problem are lacking. Frequent and sudden layoffs have created a pervasive sense of uncertainty, leaving remaining employees focused towards self interest than teamwork. This atmosphere is detrimental to growth and even profitability and has alienated employees. The CEO’s statement that dissatisfied employees should leave, rather than addressing their valid concerns, has exacerbated this culture of disengagement. This dismissive attitude makes it even harder to believe in the company’s vision or values.

Being moved between projects can be a little disconcerting sometimes.
