Pros

Insurance is great, having $20 copays for any doctor visit, no referral necessary. Also, pay is pretty good and you get a $3 increase after a year of working as an IHC lab tech. Work is always flowing so you never get bored and you truly feel a sense of satisfaction knowing you're helping a patient.

Cons

People can really be aggravating to work with when they're more interested in everyone's personal life than in focusing on the integrity of the work. Management has favorites resulting in inequality in the work environment when it comes to days off. Shifts rival and complain about each other.

Pros

When you first arrive many of your fellow employees are amazing, very nice and helpful. If you are an independent worker then the DNA section is God sent. There is an hour of lunch and if you are a fast worker then you can enjoy all of it. The spring and summer months are lighter to work.

Cons

I have literally seen every one of my testing coworkers cry with the amount of stress and work put on them. Every age/creed. The supervisors Mayra and Priti at best are overworked and at worst can be extremely vindictive and passive aggressive. Due to the stress level most people quit within a few months. I stayed eight months and that was considered long (six is average). At least three people left during the time I was there. This causes understaffing and forces everyone who is left to work the job of about two people at the least depending on the job. Many of my coworkers have been reprimanded for not using their entire lunch because they forget/don't go because of the large work load. If you ask any of the older lab staff for a genuine opinion of working there they will probably say run. Do not take this advice lightly.

Pros

Great place to start Med Tech jobs for entry level seekers. If you're willing to learn the laboratory tests then this is a great start. They will teach you and train you until you are competent.

Cons

Tough schedule, sometimes stressful due to high volume. Depending on who you work under.
