Pros

starting pay not bad to start

Cons

supervisors don't back-up employee, they take the client's word and disregard the employees. Lost job because client didn't like me for whatever reason, supervisor aware of situation from the day I started in the client's office. I was second person this happened to, but I was let go from the company permanently. The other employee was given another position elsewhere. Went through week of orientation an hour from home did not get reimbursed for gas or mileage.

Real change in corporate culture since purchase and CEO turnover

Pros

Opko purchased BioReference in Aug 2015. Until then BioReference had operated in a small company mode even though their revenue was over 800 million per year and they grew 15% to 25% per year. After the purchase more corporate procedures and processes were incorporated as expected (and often needed) but the corporate culture changed.

Cons

Since the turnover of CEO Marc Grodman approximately a year ago the company culture has significantly changed. Implementation of SAP, and many other systems have decreased corporate productivity. There has been significant upper management turnover, especially in the genetics area.
