Pros

Great hours , benefits good

Cons

They do not care for work life balance, most employees are working overtime while I was working there. Management chooses favorites and will try to push out the ones that truly do majority of the grunt work. Most toxic work environment I have ever worked in, those who break the rules frequently (including major COMPANY rules) are just talked to but I have seen them let go individuals for coming in late (over occurrence policy) while others that constantly call in or leave early still have their jobs. There is so much a person can tolerate before there is a breaking point. Although management will still always say "there is no favoritism." The model should be suck up as much as possible then you can get away with anything.

Pros

The health benefits are great, and you get all of your vacation time at the beginning of the year, even if you're a new hire. There are opportunities for raises, promotions, and annual bonuses. When you have to deal with any donor being rude or behaving inappropriately, you can call management to come and help you, and they're not shy about permanently deferring abusive donors. This is not at all a job where "the customer is always right," so the work culture here doesn't revolve around placating aggressive and abusive people like at most customer service based jobs. They will also work with you on accomodations if you have a health condition or disability; I have injuries that require me to sit, so they had me go to a doctor to be evaluated, and sent forms to HR to get me approved for a chair. The process was pretty fast and painless.

Cons

Like any medical type job, it comes with a certain level of stress & pressure. You will experience donors who get angry & belligerent when they don't pass the health screening. There are often communication breakdowns between different sections of the center, which can lead to butting heads w/ coworkers & general frustration. There is very little lenience when it comes to missing work when sick. You get 6 total paid sick days for the whole year, plus an extra 5 if you get COVID, any more than that and it's an automatic termination. So if you're someone who gets sick semi-regularly, or are disabled, make sure to get doctor's notes, or consider other jobs.

Don't Do It

Pros

Benefits and Pay are better than most plasma companies

Cons

Appointment system is pointless. Donors are over scheduled every day. Training is rushed by management. Then phlebotomists are expected to juggle 6 donors with little to no experience. Management will then wonder why the floor is chaotic when they've added more and more onto a weak foundation and refuse to take accountability for it. The turnover rate is the worst I've seen at any job I've had in the past. No matter what time you arrive management has no respect for the time you are supposed to leave and expects you to stay no matter what time you're scheduled until. And when you do stay late they never say thank you or show any appreciation. Do NOT work here unless you have any other options.
