Pros

The company is really Focus on upgrading the features of the service wich is great for the employee that are always feeling the constant need of the company to improve the tools. There is also a real investement that comes from the CEO and management team in order to create a real culture around the company and the concept. Last thing is the environnement and the great communication between the teams;it is always great to have a really open line of conversation with the founders and being able to express yourself and get genuine feedback on your ideas for the company's future and growth. There is an immense amount of potential to have an impact on the company. You have to be accountable for the autonomy that's given to you in order to reach your goals

Cons

There is a real need to push the sales team to do more all the time because it is a real "start up" but sometimes the process and structure to bring the sales is not clear enough.

Pros

Bizzabo has a strong vision of who they want to be. There's a lot of data tracking and discussion about how to get there. The software development team in Israel is fast to release new features and work with the marketing team to start promoting. Management does not constrain with rules about territory or price, everything is based on what you can get away with. If you work really hard, you can earn well as the commission plan has accelerators (and penalties). There's great benefits, beer on tap, opportunities to travel, dogs in the office, ping pong table, expensive dinners, lots of social activities and other perks that trendy start-ups offer to attract young talent. The attitude is that its the investors' money anyway so might as well spend it!

Cons

There's a clearly double standards for different groups of employees. As the co-founders are all former Israeli military personnel, there's a lot of internal propaganda and pep talks about values. There's even a Zionist slogan written on the wall as you enter the office "If you will it, it is no dream." The goal is to create a cult called the "Bizza-Family", so that employees will work much longer hours and overlook obvious shortcomings. Even when nobody is in the office there are constant emails, Whatsapp and Slack messages. Advancing in the sales team is based on friendship with the Vice President. He's filled openings with his drinking buddies who are promoted within a few months of joining. Women on the sales team are expected to wait years for promotions that men get in just a few months. The lack of ethnic diversity is also concerning; there have been very few minority employees and only 1 has remained for more than a few months.

Pros

Bizzabo prides itself on being a BizzaFamily. After spending several months with the company, I can say that this is 100% true. Everyone in the office cares about one another. My coworkers all come from varied backgrounds (including NASA, farms, other states, and other countries), and I look forward to checking in with them every day. This awesome dynamic starts with the leadership. It's extremely inspiring to be able to schedule a one-on-one conversation with the Founders whenever needed, and they create a space and vocabulary for giving feedback at every step of the way. This same sense of open communication exists with my marketing team members, the rest of the NY office, and even our Israeli office on the other side of the world. Part and parcel of the BizzaFamily dynamic is an extreme sense of autonomy. Leadership may offer suggestions, and will often provide great feedback––but we have an incredible amount of agency in determining how we reach our goals. As someone in the marketing field, I especially appreciate the opportunity to let my creativity run wild (as long as it's backed by sound strategy and data). In addition to the work, there are also many opportunities to BizzaBond. There are movie nights, company happy hours, and Pizzabos (catered lunches where we catch up with our Israeli teammates via video conference). I personally started a board game night with a fellow Bizzaboer. You can bet your buttons that there were chips- and soda-a-plenty. I know this all sounds ridiculously positive, but that's exactly how my experience has been. I'm confident that my fellow Bizzaboers would say the same.

Cons

One of the perks of working here is also the biggest challenge: autonomy. While it's great being able to determine what you want to work on and how you want to execute on it, a lot of careful planning is required. Someone may ask you to do something when you already have your plate full with lots of other tasty tasks. To paraphrase Uncle Ben in Spider Man, with great autonomy comes great time management skills and knowing how to set deadlines that are comfortable for you :)
