Pros

Naps during the graveyard shift are frowned upon but impossible to resist as you are working from 10 at night until 8 in the morning.

Cons

You will NEVER have a weekend off. You will NEVER get off of this shift - the techs that were there before you and have more seniority don't want your shift, so as the new tech you will stay trapped until the NEXT new tech comes along. This may not happen until you leave, effectively trapping the next new tech they hire and on it goes. A horrible rate of retention and a wildly short revolving door. Also, ask about length of time before you get benefits - this seems to vary from tech to tech, there is no standard of " you will get your benefits in 6-9 months. " You may wait more than a year to get your benefits and never leave the graveyard shift.
