Pros

Small engineering team with plenty of opportunities to grow and make impacts. Iterates quickly and uses modern libraries. You will get a lot of ownership over your work while working amongst smart, friendly and hardworking co-workers. The company has seen rapid growth recently and it was getting difficult to remember all the new faces.

Cons

During my time there, engineer headcount was rather low so engineers tended to be overworked when there are deadlines.

Pros

BlackBird has an incredible team of bright, talented, and friendly people with an impressive breadth of experience across tech, aviation, and finance. It’s an awesome product that you can tell is on the cusp of the flywheel and be the next piece in the transportation ecosystem for regular travel. Everyone is incredibly supportive of each other and excited to build a great product together. It’s a perfect opportunity to have exposure to all areas of the business and grow individual skills.

Cons

This is a start-up; there’s far more structure, tools, and processes than most companies at this stage, but you need to be prepared for the hustle of a growing tech company. At times there will be ambiguity, rapid changes, and limited hands-on management, so you need to be a self-starter that’s passionate about building and scaling a company.

Pros

Experienced leadership, and smart, friendly team. It's rare to work with an extremely collegial team that also has the ability to raise significant funding. Not your typical cut-throat start-up. You get to interact with people from many different groups; it's a great opportunity to learn from talented folks in other fields.

Cons

Definitely a start-up. Primary needs are to grow, grow, grow. If you are not helping the company grow, then it may be time to look elsewhere.
