Pros

commute is great, many people are very nice, prepaid market is interesting, and, well, did i mention the commute ?

Cons

The one thing Blackhawk is good at is building buses. They're no good at building products. They're no good at strategy. They're no good at tactics. They're no good at innovating. They're no good at accountability. They're no good at learning from mistakes. They're no good at developing or keeping talent. They're no good at paying hourly workers for hours actually worked. They're no good at good faith. They're no good at decency. The one thing Blackhawk is good at is building buses. No matter how many times they turn your hard work into a failure, there's always a bus available to throw someone under.

Pros

Location is at Pleasanton. Dublin Pleastaon Bart station is newly opened and within walking distance. Most co-workers are great and friendly.

Cons

if you are a software engineer who wants to focus mainly on your software development tasks and you consider yourself an 'implementer', you need to think carefully because i can't speak for other departments/groups, but unfortunately, within my group, following problems did exist based on my specific experience and observation 1) people get treated unfairly and differently. smaller groups are formed and you are not evaluated based on your actual contributions, but rather based on whether you belong to the 'special groups' , i.e. - family members/friends of family members/etc... 2) very complicated relationship and unprofessional. people that are incompetent and will not get a job even as entry-level developer anywhere else are getting paid and protected if her significant one is one of the manager. just keep silent or you will get retaliated like me 3) you don't feel proud to work there. accomplishments goes to the manager or his friends. the best thing my incompetent manager could do is to find anything to blame you. manager is rude, arrogant and unprofessional. will not appreciate your time, efforts, talent, anything unless - (GRROOOUUUPPP) YOU KNOW 4) if you get retaliated for reason 2), expect to have minimum tasks assigned to you in order to make you embarrassed or have the least changeling tasks assigned to you. 5) you know it is the good time for you to find a better opportunity somewhere where as senior software engineer, you work is appreciated and people are nice, i am so glad i did

Pros

It is my general practice to work hard in all that I do. Having said that, I truly enjoy working at Blackhawk. Every company has its quirks. Those (quirks) that may seem to stand out are completely tolerable. Prior employees may have bitterness towards the company probably because they couldn't stand to work hard. (my humble opinion)

Cons

The hours can be long but that's just characteristic of retail.
